This will be a rambling update lol. I am attempting to pull myself out of the clutches of these characters, but they are fighting back and kinda winning a little bit. Hear me out… Beautiful Assassin book 4 is written and ready for publication.
This book is a part of a four-book series that follows assassins, Celine Briggs and Brian Devereaux. For now, we can call them The Devereauxs. Think Mr. and Mrs. Smith with John Wick type of vengeance, but Black. Yeah, that’s the Beautiful Assassin series in a nutshell.
The plot though… wheeeeew.
It starts dark, gradually drags in the romance, and then the dark and the romance mingle. It’s a beautiful progression.
The series hits lots of triggers. Violence and sexually explicit content are at the top of the totem pole.
Celine is a former assassin trying to live her best life with her husband, Caleb Briggs. But all things buried don’t stay hidden. Someone from her past life has a vendetta against Celine, so they bring her out of retirement by killing her husband.
Then, she’s contacted by her ex, Brian Devereaux. A man she loved and left because he couldn’t be managomous. The more she fights to keep him at arm’s length, the more futile it is. Brian’s not easily dissuaded. He’s got Celine locked in his view, and he’s not giving up until she belongs to him.
Toxic shit, I know – I only recommend it in books.
Their relationship dynamic is explosive. Their reunion ignites wars and turns friends into enemies. Along the way, Brian and Celine navigate the unruly waters of running a gun-trafficking gang.
That’s a general overview of the Beautiful Assassin series. Each book adds to, expands on, and introduces new, thrilling, romantic twists that keep you locked in til the last page.
I hadn’t initially planned to write book 4. The first three books were a blast to write, and I knew without a doubt that if the series went into another book, things would get risky. And they did.
In Beautiful Assassin 4 Assassins, Celine and Brian Devereaux have a new enemy who cripples their empire before they can mount a defense. It’s a deeply emotional, head-spinning, tear-jerking romance. It’s giving it all. To the reader who will experience this series, congratulations lol. It’s the experience of a lifetime. I had a blast writing it, and I’ll be thinking about these characters long after the book is released. I truly hope you enjoy it.
