As I finally put the finishing touches on my book there is sigh of relief. I’m excited, pumped actually this series has been a good one to write. As a writer I not only create the characters and their emotions, I have to deal with them like the reader does. Some characters get on my nerve like Danielle (the nemesis) but I still love them all in their own way. Now I can let them speak for themselves and tell their story and I believe you will love it. I write romance but I take pleasure in knowing that my stories aren’t your typical romance stories. They come pact with much drama, thrills, suspense, obsession and restoration. So along with the new release comes, another round of contest/giveaways so make sure you are subscribed and connected to my newsletter. Only readers who are subscribed can participate in this upcoming contest. If you’ve never read the Trouble in Paradise series then you should get familiar with the characters. Subscribe to my youtube channel to see previous and present book trailers. Coming up this month I’m participating in a black writer’s and bookclubs literacy festival. This event happens September 20, 2014 from 10am to 5pm. This is the original release date for the paperback version of For Better and Worse but the fact is it maybe available sooner! Yay! As for the Kindle and Nook version they will be available September 27, 2014. The Kindle version is available now for pre-order.

The location is Miami Florida, South Beach to be exact. I’m sitting comfortably in a condo with my laptop and feet propped up. The latest story I’m writing is spilling out of me so fast my fingers can barely keep up. The music is soft R & B, preferably Pleasure P, Jeremih, and Alicia Keys. My story is taking character’s into places that will be hard for them to get out of. Love, passion, obsession, and drama spill out on to the pages. I’m in writers paradise. My scene is set and I can go nowhere but to the end of this story from here. Some places are perfect for writing while some complicate the art. This setting would be my ideal location for creating a great story. Of course I could write just about anywhere especially when the story decides to come at anytime.
As a writer if I could pick my environment every time I wrote I would start with South Beach. I more than likely wouldn’t move from that spot for a while. However, my next couple of stories are coming from the comfort of my own home. #TheKeysToMySoul is a romantic suspense that goes above and beyond the normal romance story. The main female character Cassandra is in over her head but she’s so blinded by love she doesn’t see the storm coming and really she doesn’t care. Cassandra is willing to go through that storm and fight it if she has to. Catch a teaser below;
“Listen sweetheart,” Jackie placed her fingers under her daughters chin and lifted her head. “He’s a married man. You have to let him go. He doesn’t belong to you.” She said.
“But I belong to him,” Cassandra said. “I can’t let him go; everything that I am belongs to him my mind, my body, my heart. I am his slave, I don’t know if you call this love but whatever it is I’m in it and there’s no way I could ever leave him alone.
“You should never let someone have that much control over you. Get a grip of yourself!” Jackie said.
“But he does control me mama. He holds the keys to my soul.”

Well it’s that time again! For Better and Worse part 3 of Trouble In Paradise will be out soon and to gear up for it’s debut I’m having a series review. This event will be held on Facebook’s event page wall. This will be another fun filled event with giveaways of course! To give you a little back ground on Trouble In Paradise. It is my debut novel released in 2012. It is the first book in my romantic suspense series.
Synopsis; Victoria is thankful for a lot of things- Joshua, the love of her life, a career change that starts a new chapter, and a condo in the suburbs of Chicago Illinois. Her jaw drops when she opens the garage and finds a brand new Cadillac wrapped in a huge bow. She is ecstatic and ready for the next steps towards her future. This is Victoria’s fresh beginning.
When Victoria and Joshua start their journey things take a turn for the worse. Victoria finds out her nemesis and Joshua’s ex, Danielle Shumaker has flown to Chicago to try to get Joshua back. Victoria is determined to win this fight, when she finds out Joshua has secrets of his own. Distraught, confused, and feeling the sting of betrayal she falls into the arms of another. When emotions run high and desire digs deep Victoria finds herself caught up in Trouble.
During the event we will discuss this story in detail and find out your likes and dislikes about characters and scenario’s played out in the story. We might even have guest characters in attendance. That should be very exciting. Upon completion of this part of the discussion we will move right into Vengeful Intentions which is part 2 of Trouble In Paradise. Both of these books are out and available on ebook and/or paperback on Amazon.com. A little bit about Vengeful Intentions.
Synopsis; After serving eight long months in jail and becoming obsessed with the woman who put her there Danielle Shumaker is released when the evidence held against her comes up missing. With Victoria clouding her mind with thoughts of revenge Danielle is caught off guard when someone wants to make her pay for past transgressions. Not needing the added drama Victoria is still torn between her feelings toward Greg and her undying love for Joshua. With new knowledge that Danielle has been released from jail; Victoria is stunned knowing Joshua has not been honest with her. Things get hotter when Joshua catches wind of Victoria’s affair and Caroline wants her husband back by any means necessary. Will this love story end in tragedy or will these couples learn to forgive and forget? Find out in part II of Trouble In Paradise.

Saturday April 26, 2014 we had a ball during the release of my new story Broken. The event was hosted on a Facebook event page wall and there were a lot of giveaways. First of all Marissa Palmer who is the author of the Lost In Bliss series was hosting the event with yours truly because her story was also being released on the same day. Marissa writes up under the pen Name Janae M. Robinson. The name was inspired by her three kids Ke’Asha Janae (Janae), Michael (M.), and Breanna Robinson (Robinson). What a unique way to come up with a pen name right? You can find her books on Amazon. So as the event went on we played games and gave challenges for our guest to win gifts. This post is to give a special shout out to those winners.
Congratulations! Ikia Hennings, Tekela Howard, Me’Tova Hollingsworth the winner of our subscriber only contest, and Arlena Gordon Dean the winner of our bonus giveaway! They were our top winners for the contest and giveaways. There prizes included ebook giveaways and Amazon or Barnes & Nobles gift cards! It was a good event and we had a great time. My favorite part was the challenge questions some of you had me crying laughing! Besides the primary giveaways every reader who attended the event got a free $99 cent ebook just for being there! If you were there and you didn’t get yours contact me by commenting on this post or through Facebook. In the meantime get ready for the next release it’s one a lot of you have all been waiting for. For Better and Worse Part 3 of Trouble In Paradise and I guarantee it’s a PAGE TURNER! Sign up for my newsletter you never know what kind of contest or giveaways I will send out next!
Recently I saw something that caught my attention about being in an open marriage and I must say the idea was interesting. What would be the benefit in being in an open marriage I wonder? In my youthful days (when I didn’t know any better) I found that having more than one partner, boo, boyfriend, or whatever you want to call it was exciting at the time but only ended up with someone getting their feelings hurt. More times than not that someone was me! Okay, so it’s understandable that a person would have the urge or need to share experiences with different people but isn’t that what friends are for? Yes I know, friends can only share so much but how much of yourself are you really willing to share?
As I ponder on this I must say nothing is always good. Nothing is ever perfect and a lot of the time you may find yourself disappointed. This of course is when it comes to relationships. We all crave to have someone special in our life. However, once we’re with this person for so long we start to crave for something new. I do believe it’s all about the new. Open marriages must be open to try and keep the ‘spice’ in the relationship so to speak. Although this is an interesting concept once the fun is done the emotional side effects are on full blast. Let’s look at a different side of ‘spice’ for a minute.
Role play, it has to be the safest method to spice up a relationship with ‘different people’ so to speak without the strain on the relationship once the emotions set in. My husband and I love this method because we can pretend we are Kimberly and Jason (insert laugh here). We’ll take our role plays as far as a billiards club remove our rings and pretend we’re single meeting each other for the first time. I’ll play a little hard to get but of course he never gives up and the experience leads to a little spice, romance, four play, and more. This has to be the most healthy yet productive way to keep the relationship a blaze. You should try it. In the meantime let me know. Are you up for being in an open marriage or is role play more your forte?
